Pauline Bauman passed away peacefully in the home she loved, surrounded by family, in Condon, Oregon, December 6, 2017. A memorial funeral mass will be held at St. John's Catholic Church in Condon at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Friday, December 15, at 6 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church. A luncheon will follow the funeral mass at St. John's parish hall.
Pauline was born February 19, 1933 in Kellogg, Idaho to Joseph and Rose Basta. The family moved to Walla Walla, Washington when Pauline was a child. She graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic High School and later worked as a telephone operator for several years.
On January 19, 1958 Pauline married Frank Bauman. The couple and their 5 children moved to Condon in 1969 from Genesse, Idaho.
Her joy in life was taking care of her family, friends and neighbors. Pauline was especially happy when a new baby came along. Her home was always filled with family, friends and great food. Pauline was famous for her homemade bread and pies. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, which was always celebrated with family, children and grandchildren.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bauman. She is survived by her five children and their spouses: Rosana and Tim Carr, Pamela and Robert Johnson, Jennifer and Max McIntosh, Kristine and Ruben Wetherell, and Frank and Teri Bauman. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, four grandson in-laws, six great grandchildren and her brother, Joe Basta.
