Vesta Mae (McCarty) Eaton

Vesta Eaton Obituary

Vesta Mae Eaton, 96, peacefully embarked on her final great adventure on September 26, 2018, with family by her side, while residing in the caring community at New Horizon Adult Family Home in Everett, Washington.

She was born in Condon, Oregon to Elijah and Alice McCarty and was the youngest of four children. After graduating Condon High School in 1939, she attended Oregon State with her good friend, Alerita Burns. She joined the Marine Corps for the duration of the WWll and was honorably discharged in 1945.

Vesta married Edward Eaton in 1946 and eventually settled in Lincoln City, Oregon, where she raised four children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings-Vere, Lois and Earl, her son, John Eaton and her great grandson, Eddie Pilotte.

She is survived by her daughters-Anne Hennessy, Jo Trevino and Marjorie Wood, as well as 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Vesta will be remembered for her wonderful imagination and sense of humor, as well as her love of family, reading, music and writing poetry.

Funeral services will be held at St John’s Catholic Church in Condon, Oregon at 11am on Saturday, October 20th, with Father Robert Greiner officiating. Burial services with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Condon. Family and friends will gather at the Memorial Hall to celebrate Vesta’s life following the graveside service.
