David W. Lacey, 64, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in Bend, Oregon after a two plus year battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was born on July 30, 1955, at Heppner, Oregon the son of Walt and Billie Fay Lacey. The family lived in Condon where David was raised and attended school, graduating from Condon High School in 1973. David lived in several places and worked at various types of jobs. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do. He was very talented in many ways. He met his wife, Merilyn in Conrad, Montana in 2004. They were married in 2009. The couple moved to Antelope, Oregon where they lived for eight years until his retirement. After his retirement they moved to Fossil, Oregon where they resided until his homegoing. David received Christ as his Savior in 2013 and has faithfully attended Fossil Baptist Fellowship since 2018 when he moved to Fossil. Survivors include his wife Merilyn and her son Mathew Cigarroa, Two daughters; November Sluder and Michelle Weiker, grandson Jared Wallis Weiker, five sisters; Marthela Hawkins, April Wilson, Dorothy Frost, Kathy Cutsforth, Loa Lacey, and his brother Scott Lacey. He was preceded in death by his parents Walt and Billie Fay Lacey. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Condon Cemetery, A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Fossil Baptist Fellowship Church, 903 Main St. in Fossil. A celebration of life will follow at 1 p.m. at the Man Cave, 48653 Old Highway Road in Fossil. This will be a potluck and Ice Cream Social. David will be greatly missed by many.
