Warren Steven Plocharsky, 81, of Heppner, OR passed unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022. Warren was born on November 26, 1940, in Bristol, CT to Stanley and Martha (Schultz) Plocharsky. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 1962.
Warren began his career with the Forest Service in Clarkia, ID. He continued his career in forestry at Coeur d ‘Alene, ID, Lake Wenatchee, WA, and Lake Chelan, WA before moving to Heppner , OR in 1965. Warren married Irene Perkins in Plymouth, CT on June 9, 1961. The couple had six children.
Throughout his life Warren had many interests. In his spare time, he contributed to the construction of Rasmussen-Lott Addition in Heppner where he built 5 homes, served many years on the Heppner City Council, taught Hunters Safety Courses to youth in the community, and taught English as a second language to support refugees from Poland. Warren had a strong passion for hunting and fishing. He trained, bred, and showed Brittany Spaniels for upland bird hunting. He spent many days on long trips across the Western United States seeking out prime hunting and camping locations in the pursuit of turkey, deer, antelope, elk, and beautiful fishing areas to take his children, grandchildren, and hunting buddies.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Irene Plocharsky of Heppner, OR and his sister, Marcia Plocharsky of College Place, WA. He is survived by his children Carolyn (Bryan) Stelling, Janet (Mitch Gregg) Plocharsky, Steve (Angie) Plocharsky, Paula (James Bautch) Plocharsky, Susan (Dan) Vandecoevering, Wayne (Michelle) Plocharsky, 10 grandchildren Kyla Stelling, Lauren Martin, Riley Gregg, Barbara and Lawson Plocharsky, Kayla, Haley, and Kenzie Vandecoevering, Payton and Paxton Plocharsky and step-grandchildren Bradley Gott, Wyatt and Morrigan Chapman, Kendra Burrill, Teryn and Tiera Thiery.
A memorial service will be held at Heppner Masonic Cemetery where he will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 18th at 1 p.m.
